GenomSys will participate at the Transform genomic and biological data into insights on AWS event in in Zürich on May 11th, with our Chief Technology Officer speaking on High performance big data analysis for large scale genomics.
This Amazon Web Services (AWS) event will focus on how organizations can leverage cloud computing to transform genomic and biological data into actionable insights. It is a fantastic event for sharing our experience on how to store, process, and analyze large amounts of genomic data and how AWS cloud computing can drive innovation in the life sciences.
Claudio’s speech on “High-performance big data analysis for large scale genomics” will shed light on how GenomSys wants further to impact global healthcare through genomics positively. Establishing high-performance processing infrastructures and high availability for the extensive amounts of data generated is an essential factor here. GenomSys has successfully deployed the core of its genomic data analysis platform on AWS by integrating professional diagnostics applications with mobile apps to deliver the benefits of personalized genomics to the public.
“This will be an excellent opportunity to talk about how GenomSys solutions address the growing need to handle Big Data in genomics. I am honored to be invited to this event and look forward to interacting with the many highly qualified participants. I believe that our unique solutions based on the ISO/IEC 23092 (MPEG-G) standard will help in processing large amounts of genomics data in the cloud to make genomic medicine a reality for everyone.” says Claudio Alberti, CTO of GenomSys.
GenomSys led and substantially contributed to the development and publication in 2020 of the new and only ISO standard for genomic data (ISO/IEC 23092 MPEG-G, “the MP3 equivalent for genomic data”), fostering innovation and interoperability.
More recently, GenomSys developed a software toolkit (GenomSys MPEG-G Tool Kit), enabling everyone to benefit from the new standard and an intuitive germline analysis platform (GenomSys Variant Analyzer) for genomic labs, both CE-marked IVD MD.
We also developed an innovative smartphone app (GenomYou) for individuals to store their own genomic data in their smartphones and connect to genomic labs for additional analyses or avail of genetic counseling, leveraging the power of mobile and connecting with our business partners around the world.
Our solutions reduce overall costs (storage needs -70%), speed data transmission, and analyses, facilitate data re-use, assure privacy and guarantee quality and robustness. Swiss-level safe, ISO-13485 quality certified.
