Learn more about Joy’s recap of 2021 at GenomSys and her outlook for 2022 for herself and the company through the following quick questions:

Hello and happy New Year Joy. What was your most outstanding achievement at GenomSys in 2021?

2021 was a fast-paced year here at GenomSys; we doubled our forces and implemented the cores of GenomSys products: GenomSys Variant Analyzer and GenomYou. We combined our skills and professional identities quickly in order to reach our common goal, which inevitably caused a boost in personal and professional growth in our Team. My personal achievement was the refinement of my capability to steal with eyes from the rest of the Team, who taught me a lot.

What was the most important thing you learned in 2021?

2021 at GenomSys was a personal challenge since I’ve always wanted to be part of a Startup environment, but I didn’t know if I was capable of handling that. The fast-acting within a startup makes the communication straightforward. This active work, although with uncertainties, but clearly more intensive, suits me. In addition, I feel actively involved in something that has a greater significance for society, such as the improvement of personalized medicine, and I am proud to be a part of it.

What are your expectations for you and/or GenomSys for 2022?

I expect to see our tools being used in hospitals and labs to support geneticists and physicians in defining diagnosis. I’m waiting to receive practical feedback about our products and continue optimizing the pipeline to create a product that evolves each step to truly make personalized medicine a reality with old and new colleagues.
