Learn more about Luca’s recap of 2021 at GenomSys and his outlook for 2022 for himself and the company through the following quick questions:

Hi Luca and happy New Year. What was your most outstanding achievement at GenomSys in 2021?

In 2021 we culminated the ambitious process of translating an innovative vision started years ago into reality, namely the GenomSys Variant Analyzer and the GenomYou app. Turning a vision – as innovative as it is but still, a concept –  into concrete applications which can fit the market is, of course, an achievement, but especially for a team that has been developed explosively in a short time frame. Personally, it has been very rewarding to design the genetic application for professional purposes and for individuals interested in the possible impact of genetics on their lives.

What was the most important thing you learned in 2021?

I had the chance to gain deep insight into software development and value proposition creation and to have a 360° vision of company activities. Among all the lessons a start-up environment could teach you, I had to adjust to a managerial role, especially within what in ecology we could define as a “rapidly changing ecosystem”.

What are your expectations for you and/or GenomSys for 2022?

I expect the team to finalize the process and accomplish a market validation for GenomSys efforts, which ultimately means to make our customers happy. On the company’s side, I hope we can further improve the process of being a team, growing together a diverse and versatile ensemble to pursue ambitious common goals.
