Happy New Year Tiziana. Starting of easy, which fun-fact did you learn this year?
I was reading about new genetic tests that direct-to-consumer companies are offering nowadays, and among all, one particularly struck my attention: a children’s talent test. Apparently, testing your children for their talent(s) is becoming very popular, especially in Asia, for parents who want to unleash their children’s full potential and create a roadmap to their future success. I have to say I am quite conflicted about that. On one side, it could definitely be a supporting tool in identifying suitable extracurricular activities, but on the other side, wouldn’t it end up putting a bit too much pressure on these kids? Just food for thought!
What was your most outstanding achievement at GenomSys in 2022?
It has been a short ride so far, considering I only joined in September. Still, I am proud I have been able to integrate very quickly with the team and the company culture, as well as leverage my personal and professional networks to bring further insights and contacts that are proving useful in our business development activities.
What was the most important thing you learned in 2022?
That’s a hard question to answer! Many things happened to me this year, both personally and professionally, and maybe one aspect that was shared throughout the different experiences was the importance of following my instinct. I can be a very indecisive person at times and struggle to believe in what my gut is telling me, but going forward, I am learning and experiencing that very rarely my intuition is mistaken. So yeah, less self-doubt and more trust in myself!
What are your expectations for you and/or GenomSys for 2023?
I think 2023 will be a turning-point year for GenomSys as the company will finally transition into the commercialization phase after a few years of hard work developing innovative software solutions. In this scenario, I feel excited to contribute to the company’s growth and to explore new business models and potential partnerships to maximize the returns from our go-to-market strategy.
